1. I understand that as a player selected to represent the Bankstown Basketball Association [BBA]. I agree to abide by all rules, regulations and Code of Conduct as set down by the Bankstown Basketball Association & Basketball NSW.
2. I understand and accept that participation in the BBA Representative Program [Bankstown Bruins] is a privilege and honour and I agree to maintain the highest standard of effort, performance and behaviour at all times.
3. I accept without reservation, the appointment to any role of coaching staff, administrative staff and/or authorised personnel by BBA/BNSW and agree to abide by any decisions made by those appointed or by BBA.
4. I agree to safely use BBA premises, furnishings and equipment, immediately report malicious damage to premises, furnishings and equipment, and respond to directions issued by BBA officials and coaching staff whilst on the BBA premises.
5. I agree to participate fairly and in a sportsmanlike manner when representing BBA, and respect other competitors, game referees and officials. BBA will not tolerate bad sportsmanship, abusive or threatening language or behaviour, and severe penalties, including lengthy suspensions, may be handed out.
6. I agree to abide by any rules, policies, by-laws &/or guidelines governing the operation or administration of the BBA Representative program including any rules, policies, by-laws and/or guidelines by a governing body of the sport, including but not limited to the BNSW Zero Tolerance Policy.
7. I accept that there are risks of injury associated with playing basketball, as there are with most sports. Risks will arise in the context of the activities of running, jumping, catching, throwing and guarding opposition players. I understand that while BBA aims to minimise risks, it is not possible to eliminate them all.
8. I agree to observe BBA standards of dress and personal appearance, including wearing BBA’s official apparel of warm up top, shorts, tracksuit top before and after Representative fixtures. I understand that no other apparel is to be worn.
9. I understand that inappropriate behaviour, consumption of alcohol, substance abuse, or attitude detrimental to the team or the association may result in disciplinary action or expulsion from the representative program.
10. I understand that NO TRAIN – NO PLAY can be used as a guideline in the selection of the team for any particular match or matches by the discretion of that particular coach, and I will endeavour to be punctual to all team games, practices or meeting.
11. I understand that all players must be registered and are responsible for ensuring that their registration is current.
12. I understand that in accepting a position within the Bruins Representative Program, I acknowledge that BBA will use photographs and some personal information on the BBA website and in various literature, newsletters, and related publications and agree to the reasonable use of such photographs and information.
13. I agree to meet all financial obligations as and when they fall due or to communicate any difficulty in meeting said obligations by the specified date.
14. I agree to support the Department of Sport & Recreation’s Policy & guidelines relating to Child Protection. Adults should be aware that anyone under 18 years of age is covered under the Child Protection Act [2012], which will include players [both Bruins & oppositions players] & junior officials.
15. As a Player in the Representative Program, I agree to set an appropriate example of sportsmanship and leadership by being fair and sportsmanlike in my attitude, actions and behaviour. I agree to make every effort to ensure my attitude; actions and behaviour are of the highest standards at all times.
16. I understand that in accepting a position within the Bruins Representative Program I agree to abide by any Rules, Policies, By-laws &/or guidelines governing the operation and or administration of Basketball NSW competitions.
