Monday Mens Competition

Monday Night Men’s competition is for divisions 1 through to 6 and the games are fully timed. First game will commence at 6:40pm. The higher divisions 1-2 a generally invitation only as the standard is considered at senior representative level. How to Join a Team?

If you are an individual player looking to join a team at BBA, you will be required to complete the “Want to Play” form. No payment is required until a player is placed in a team. While every effort is made to accommodate individual nominations, placement in a team is not guaranteed. Your details will be placed on our database and passed onto any club/team looking for players in your specific age group. How to get your game time?

BBA uploads weekly court grids onto our competition page.

Game times are also accessible via the Sports TG link https://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?assoc=4046 or via the GAME DAY App.

 

Uniforms?

Singlets are required to have numbers on the front and back. Teams shall use numbers from 0 to 99 only, with no duplicate numbers being used in any one game. Uniforms shall also consist of all players wearing the same or predominantly the same colour singlet, top and shorts, skirts or bicycle pants.

 

Predominantly black shorts may be substituted for any team colour that is difficult to purchase e.g. orange. Our sponsor Soul Sports (www.soulsports.com.au) will provide a 10% discount for any team uniform orders if you mention you play at Bankstown Basketball Association.

 

Am I able to trial before registering?

Any player wishing to trial in a team must complete a trial form and hand it to the doorkeeper/supervisor for approval PRIOR to taking the court. Bankstown Basketball Association advises that players are able to trial (for a maximum of 2 games per competition) however until you complete the individual registration process you are unregistered and uninsured.

 

Wednesday Mens & Womens Competition

Wednesday Night Men’s & Women’s competition is for divisions 2 – 8 for men and Division 1 – 6. First game will commence at 6:40pm. All games operate on a running clock. Please enter your appropriate skill level division but note that teams may be re graded by the Competitions manager. Games Fees:

$90 per game (Fully Timed)

$85 per game (Running Clock)

Team Entry – $110 payable online at time of registering

Player Registration – $125 – Yearly individual registration (discounted due to COVID stadium closure if registration expires before July 2021)

Thursday Mens Masters 35+ Competition

The men’s over 35 years basketball competition is designed to cater for the old generation players. The games are all fully timed and competition dates will vary from the other competition nights. Can a player enter if they are younger than 35 years of age

Players must be 35 years of age or above to compete. There is no limit to age however, players are requested to be conscious of their skill and fitness levels before entering.

Sunday Unisex Competition

Unisex is held on Sunday afternoons/ evenings with the first game at 4pm. There are a number of divisions for all level players starting from Div 1 through to Div 7. To have an eligible team there must be a minimum of two girls on a team.

How many women are required on the court at one time?

To be able to have a valid team there must be two (2) women on the court at all times. Teams can play more than two girls on the court at one time, but can have no more than 3 men on the court at one time.

 

Are Men able to block Women?

During the game men cannot block the shot of a female player. If this does occur then 2 points will be awarded to the shooting team.
